Greetings! Saludos! Здравствуйте!Salut! Shalom! Namaste!
Saluton!Ciao! Privet! Boas! صباح الخير, 你好.
On behalf of the International Association of Educators for World Peace, I am pleased to announce our inclusion in a very special NASA co-sponsored program, the International Academy of Astronautics Humans in Space Symposium Youth Art Competition, and I invite your participation!
The goal of the Youth Art Competition is to have children 10-17 years old worldwide participating and communicating what they believe is the future of human spaceflight and why it is important. Children are asked to witness, shape, and participate in the next golden age of human space flight. The art categories are visual(includes drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramic, photography, etc.), literary, musical composition, or video. Artwork will be judged in two age groups, 10-13 years old and 14-17 years old.
The deadline for electronic entry submittal is midnight (GMT-6), December 3, 2010. Detailed information about art guidelines and how to enter online is available at http://www.humansinspaceart.org. Each submitted artwork must be accompanied by a completed online entry form, an artist’s statement of originality, and an adult sponsor form. I encourage adults with information technology skills and equipment to assist children in entering this contest. All submissions should only be done on line; for visual art, an artist can scan or photograph their art so that it can be submitted on line (please follow the online guidelines to allow for best resolution format that is still within the file format type and size restrictions). If you have any questions please contact me at: info@jacquelineripstein.com.
Our specific participation is two special awards, one per age group, for the artwork that best expresses a vision of how cooperation in human space exploration can help create Peace on Earth. Peace must first be created from within and then personal responsibility is taken for creating World Peace. The future is created through actions taken in the present moment. As we see our Planet from space, we have a better understanding that we are all Human Beings with NO separation, all inside a Planet that has given us an opportunity for a Human experience! I encourage the children of the world to take advantage of this opportunity to send a message to the adults of the world regarding their concerns for the current state of the planet Earth caused by lack of cooperation and share their vision of World Peace that will result from positive cooperation in human space exploration.
Be inspired! Be creative! Be heard! In summary, I am looking very forward to learning what the children of the world have as their vision of the future, where humans from all nations labor together within them to help preserve our Planet Earth and all the living beings that within it. May they work in peaceful cooperation with the common purpose of achieving World Peace through human exploration of space and the use of the Art as a means of Unity and Peace!
Kind regards,
Jacqueline Ripstein
